Four Paths,
Twenty-Four Oaths
Every character in Drakkenhold starts on one of four ancient oaths. At tier 4 the path branches, and at tier 6 it forks again. Twenty-four end-points in total, none shared. Respec costs a title.

The Knight
Oath-sworn, plate-armoured, the first body through any gate. Knights serve their clan-lord by contract written in dragon-blood ink — break the oath and the armour burns off the corpse when it falls.
Specialises in heavy melee, banner abilities, and taunt-based siege control. At tier 4 branches into Templar (holy-rite healing for the front line), Dragoon (mounted charge + cone damage) or Warden (single-target castle-door crushing). Tier 6 forks again into six endgame specs.
Best for: players who like to be in the fight's centre, not watching it from a ridge.

The Dark Elf
Sister-order of the forest-shrouded southern reaches. The Dark Elves are the only line old enough to remember the original text of the Compact — which is why the old houses fear them still.
Specialises in dual-dagger burst damage, stealth control, and sabotage abilities. Tier 4 branches into Nightblade (pure single-target assassination), Spellbreaker (sorcery disruption in sieges) or Shade-Walker (reconnaissance and flanking movement). Tier 6 adds poison, curse and mimicry forks.
Best for: players who write the ending of the siege before anyone notices it started.

The Sorcerer
Scholars of the silent-tower libraries. Sorcery in Drakkenhold is not fireballs — it is leverage. The Sorcerer reshapes terrain, breaks siege engines at their joins, and makes walls that should have held for a week fall in an hour.
Specialises in area control, siege engineering, and line-of-sight manipulation. Tier 4 branches into Architect (terrain + structure manipulation), Invocator (ranged area damage across the battlefield) or Runesmith (buff/debuff imprints on the warband). No hit-point bar on earth — stay behind the line, or die instantly.
Best for: players who play the meta-layer, not the swords-and-numbers layer.

The Warlord
Orc-kin heritage, dragon-scale plate. Warlords do not defend the line — they are the line. When a Warlord falls in a siege, the clan-lord declares a mourning period before the next assault. No one steps forward.
Specialises in massive two-handed damage, clan buffs, and unbreakable stance mechanics. Tier 4 branches into Battle-Master (party-wide combat leadership), Berserker (no stance, all damage, burns own HP) or Siegebreaker (dedicated wall/gate demolition). Tier 6 forks add summoning beasts and banner-area effects.
Best for: players who'd rather be the story than tell it.
Your Build Is Your Name
There is no free respec in Drakkenhold. Choosing a path is choosing which songs the taverns sing about you. To change lines costs your founder title, your clan oath and seven days of exile before the new path takes. This is by design. Commit.
